The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) notified Monday, February 13, 2023 with their intention of the removal of Palestinian -owned residential facilities in Khirbet Humsa Basaliya, in the northern Jordan Valley.
The official in charge of the settlement file in Tubas governorate, Moataz Bisharat, stated that the occupation had notified the removal of residential facilities belonging to Ali Mahmoud Bisharat, under the pretext of stopping the destruction of antiquities.
He added that IOF raided the tents of Karima Muhammad Khader Bisharat in the same area, and took pictures of all their contents as the occupation’s policy is systematic to demolish Palestinian residents’ facilities and homes, at a time when dozens of Israeli illegal settlement housing units built on Palestinian lands.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, OCHA, documented the demolition and confiscation of 88 Palestinian-owned buildings in Jerusalem and Area C of the West Bank (which is under full Israeli control). In turn, this made 99 Palestinians homeless, including 54 children, as a result of the demolitions, and affected the livelihoods of about 21,000 others.
