The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Monday, February 13, 2023, the Israeli government’s decisions aimed at building and legalizing additional settlement units and outposts in occupied Palestine.

The official spokesman for the ministry, Ambassador Sinan Majali, stressed, in a press statement, that “such measures will push towards more violence, for which everyone will pay the price.”

He stressed that settlement expansion and the displacement of Palestinian citizens from their homes is a flagrant violation and gross violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, foremost of which is Security Council Resolution No. 2224.

He added that the unilateral practices implemented by “Israel”, the occupying power, including building and expanding settlements, confiscating lands and displacing Palestinians, are illegal that are rejected and condemned and represent a serious violation of international humanitarian law.
