At least 84 Palestinians have been killed and 329 wounded throughout the Gaza Strip, according to the Health Ministry, as Israeli occupation forces launched a new ground invasion in the southern city of Khan Younis. The offensive marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.
Israeli tanks pushed into the Khan Younis suburb of Bani Suheila, with several eastern districts of the city experiencing heavy bombardment for a second consecutive day. The Health Ministry reported that the toll of dead and wounded is likely to rise as rescue operations continue in the affected areas.
The intensifying violence has prompted tens of thousands of Palestinians to flee southern areas of Gaza. The Israeli occupation army issued an evacuation order for parts of Khan Younis, including the al-Mawasi “humanitarian zone,” leading to a mass exodus of residents seeking safety.
This latest assault follows an attack a week earlier on al-Mawasi, where the Health Ministry reported 92 people were killed. The Israeli occupation military stated that the previous strike targeted a Hamas commander, escalating tensions and leading to the current ground invasion.
