PPC: 73 Palestinian Prisoners Killed of Medical Negligence in Israeli Prisons

M.S | DOP -

The Palestinian Prisoners Club (PPC) said on Saturday, September 10, 2022, that 73 Palestinian detainees have been killed in Israeli prisons since 1967, as a result of the policy of medical negligence pursued by the Israeli prison administration.

The club added, in a statement, that “these Palestinian martyrs are among the 231 martyrs of the prisoners’ movement since 1967.”

It pointed out that the issue of sick prisoners has witnessed a critical stage during the past few years; “Where the crime of medical negligence, along with the policy of torture by the occupation, constituted the most prominent policies that led to the martyrdom of prisoners, by the prison administration against prisoners.”

The club explained that about 600 sick Palestinian prisoners in the occupation prisons, who have been diagnosed over the past years, face difficult health conditions.

It indicated that about 200 prisoners suffer from chronic diseases, and 23 prisoners suffer from tumors and cancer of various degrees, the most difficult of which is the case of the prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid, who is expected to die suddenly.

On September 3, the Prisoners’ Club announced the death of the Palestinian detainee, Musa Abu Mhaimid, 40, in the Israeli Asaf Harofeh hospital, as a result of the policy of medical negligence pursued by the occupation prisons administration against sick Palestinian prisoners.

According to the Club, Israeli Ramle prison, which is called the “slaughterhouse,” is a witness to the daily death they live in, as about 18 sick and wounded prisoners are held in it in tragic circumstances.

The total number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the occupation prisons until the end of July of this year reached 4550, including 27 women, 175 children, and about 670 administrative detainees.
