Seven Palestinians from Gaza were released today Thursday July 25th after being incarcerated in Israel’s Ofer prison, coming out with serious difficult health and mental conditions.
One of the detainees described his ordeal in detail, recounting the inhumane treatment and torture he endured in these torture camps, saying” We were arrested by the Israeli soldiers who forced us to the ground and kept battering us. We were tortured for 30 consecutive days, our hands and legs tied throughout”.
“We were thrown pieces of stale bread as food and denied medicine too. We were electrically shocked, and verbally and physically abused day and night. I was even electric-shocked in my mouth,” he added.
Among the released detainees were two women who were moved to Al-Aqsa hospital in Deir Al-Balah as signs of torture and fatigue appeared on their body.
Another released prisoner Mohammed al-Zaneen said Israeli soldiers shot at them after being released and forced them to run for half an hour with injury.
“I saw more than 150 prisoners with amputated limbs suffering hard conditions inside prison,” adding that Israelis released dogs at them as a punishment.
