PCPS: IOF Detained 4800 Palestinians in 2022

The Palestinian Center for Prisoners Studies PCPS revealed on Saturday, September 10, that Israeli occupation forces IOF have detained 4800 Palestinians in West Bank and Jerusalem since the start of 2022.

The PCPS stated on Saturday morning that Israeli occupation forces escalated the detention of Palestinians in 2022.

It added that Israeli forces carry around-the-clock detentions against Palestinians. “Hardly a day goes by without Israel arresting Palestinians,” the center added.

In addition, the center said that 4,800 Palestinians, including 550 children and 101 women, were arrested in 2022; Most of them were released after they were subjected to humiliation, torture, and harsh interrogation.

Moreover, Israeli forces detained 6 members of the Palestinian Legislative Council. Two of them are still held in Israeli prisons, and four were released.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation authorities escalated issuing administrative detention orders against Palestinians in 2022 as 541 detention orders were issued.

The total number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the occupation prisons until the end of July of this year reached 4550, including 27 women, 175 children, and about 670 administrative detainees.
