The Palestinian prisoner, Riyad Al-Amour (53) from Bethlehem, entered Sunday, May 7, 2023, his 22nd year in the Israeli occupation prisons, since his detention in 2002.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Club stated that the prisoner Al-Amour faced a harsh and long investigation following his detention, during which he faced severe torture until he lost hearing in one of his ears.
It’s worth mentioning that the Israeli Occupation Court sentenced him to life imprisonment 11 times, that during the years of his detention he lost his parents and the was prevented from bidding the last farewell to them.
The Palestinian prisoner Al-Amour is one of the sick prisoners in the occupation prisons. He has been subjected to the crime of medical negligence since the first years of his detention.
In 2010, Al-Amour underwent an open heart operation, and was forced to wait more than ten years to change the pacemaker.
Israeli occupation is currently holding more than 1,000 Palestinian detainees without charge or trial, the highest number since 2003, according to the Israeli human rights group HaMoked.
