Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) notified Sunday, May 7, 2023, the halt of construction on a concrete wall, and the demolition of a container in the town of Qalandiya, northwest of occupied Jerusalem.
Local sources reported that the occupation forces stormed the town, handed two notices to stop work on a concrete wall and a container, and verbally warned a farmer to dismantle a sheep pen, in Al-Beriyat area, north of the village, under the pretext of building without a permission.
Israeli occupation is trying in various ways to forcibly displace Palestinians from their own lands and demolish their homes in favor of settlement expansion, using pretexts most notably building without a permit.
According to OCHA, Israeli occupation carries out the stop-construction and demolition orders under the pretext of lacking a building permit. The organization noted that “it is almost impossible for Palestinians to obtain such or that permit.”
