A group of Israeli settlers set fire to lands in the village of Burin, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, July 29, 2023.
Dozens of trees were engulfed in flames due to the deliberate action of the settlers, who obstructed local residents from extinguishing the fire, leading to confrontations.
Under the protection of the Israeli military, the settlers even attacked civilians attempting to control the blaze, exacerbating the already tense situation in the region.
Israeli settlers routinely practice ecological apartheid through various forms of discriminatory actions against Palestinian lands and natural resources.
Since the beginning of 2023 until July 4, there have been 525 settler attacks in the West Bank, resulting in 137 injuries to Palestinians and 388 incidents causing damage to their properties, according to UN statistics.
