Israeli forces violently suppressed on Saturday, July 29, 2023, Palestinians in Tuqu’, southeast of Bethlehem, suffocating 10 Palestinians with tear gas canisters, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
On the same day, Israeli settlers attacked a farmer and his wife in the wilderness of Tuqu’, east of Bethlehem.
According to Hassan Breijieh, director of the Bethlehem office of the Wall and Settlements Resistance Commission, several settlers from the recently established settlement outpost on the lands of Tuqu’ attacked Suleiman Abdul Baden (65 years old) and his wife for the second consecutive day.
The Israeli settlers attempted to set fire to their tent and harm their livestock, but their fellow villagers prevented it from happening.
Breijieh also pointed out that there is an ongoing settlement plan in the area, and the Israeli occupation are colluding with settlers in their attacks against Palestinians to forcibly displace them from their lands.
