Right-wing Israeli settlers and ‘Temple Mount’ groups called on Tuesday, 21 February 2023 for mass raids of Al-Aqsa Mosque starting next April, to mark the so-called Hebrew ‘Passover’ coinciding with the month of Ramadan for Muslims.
Taking to social media, Israeli settlers called for conducting provocative Talmudic rituals inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
Israeli settlers are calling for breaking into the Al-Aqsa Mosque in an attempt to Judaise the Muslim holy site and impose its ‘sovereignty’ over it, as part of schemes to divide the compound temporally and spatially.
In response, Palestinian activists call on the Palestinian people and the Arab and Muslim nations to face off such malignant plots, protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and ward off attempts to Judaise Jerusalem with all means possible.
As part of a decades-old accord between Jordan and the Israeli occupation, non-Muslims are not allowed to perform any religious rituals inside the confines of Al-Aqsa Mosque, nor are Israeli symbols allowed to be displayed.
However, an uptick in Israeli settlers’ visits to the holy mosque will anger Palestinian Muslims and lead to protests, which are usually met with Israeli forces’ brutal attacks on the protesters.
The holy sites including Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem have been facing colonial settler violence routinely.
