DayofPal– Israeli occupation forces carried out a deadly airstrike on Tuesday evening, targeting a group of Palestinian civilians who had gathered to receive humanitarian aid at the Al-Tahlia junction, east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
According to eyewitnesses and medical sources, at least 50 Palestinians were killed, including women and children, while dozens more were injured, many of them critically.
The attack has been described as one of the most brutal in recent weeks, striking a crowd of desperate civilians awaiting food and basic supplies.
Rescue teams and civil defense workers are still recovering bodies from the site, facing enormous challenges due to ongoing Israeli bombardment in the area. Ambulances have struggled to reach the wounded as the shelling continues.
Human rights organizations and international relief agencies swiftly condemned the strike, labeling it a war crime and a grave violation of international humanitarian law.
“Targeting civilians during the distribution of aid is absolutely unacceptable and must be investigated,” a spokesperson for a major humanitarian NGO said.
Palestinian officials called for urgent international intervention to halt the escalating Israeli aggression and to ensure the protection of civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
They emphasized the dire humanitarian situation, with thousands of families lacking food, water, and shelter under constant threat of violence.
The incident adds to the growing toll of casualties in Gaza amid intensified military operations and a deteriorating humanitarian crisis.
