DaysofPal – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has issued a stark warning that Israel’s continued ban on fuel entry into Gaza—now in effect for over 100 days—is placing all humanitarian operations in the besieged enclave on the brink of total shutdown.
In a statement posted Tuesday on X (formerly Twitter), UNRWA stated that essential services, including healthcare, water, food distribution, and telecommunication,s are at “imminent risk of collapse” due to the ongoing blockade.
Since March 2, Israeli authorities have sealed all border crossings into Gaza, halting the entry of vital supplies such as food, medicine, aid, and fuel. This move comes amid an intensifying military campaign that human rights groups increasingly describe as genocidal.
“Without fuel, lives will be lost,” UNRWA warned, emphasizing that humanitarian operations simply cannot function under these conditions. The agency reiterated its urgent call for the immediate lifting of the blockade to prevent further deterioration of an already catastrophic humanitarian situation.
Gaza’s humanitarian crisis continues to escalate as the Strip endures acute shortages of basic necessities, widespread displacement, and near-total collapse of critical infrastructure—conditions compounded by the fuel embargo that now threatens to extinguish what remains of emergency relief efforts.
