Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) suppressed two funerals Monday, February 6, 2023 that led to the suffocation of dozens of Palestinian citizens in the town of Beit Ummar, to the north of Hebron, in the occupied West-Bank.
Activist Youssef Abu Maria said that IOF prevented the passage of a funeral to the town’s cemetery and closed its main entrance. He added that the occupation soldiers fired tear gas and stun grenades at the Palestinian participants in the two funerals, which resulted in dozens suffocated by gas inhalation.
Abu Maria explained that the confrontations between Palestinians and the occupation soldiers have been going on for hours, in response to the massacre occurred in Aqabat Jabr camp in Jericho. This massacre led to five Palestinian martyrs who died at dawn today and plenty of civilians injured.
Abu Maria indicated that a comprehensive strike took place in the town of Beit Ummar to mourn the souls of the martyrs of Aqabat Jabr camp, amid continuous calls to take an action and respond to un-ending Israeli crimes against Palestinians.
It’s noteworthy that these provocative acts come amid the escalating atmosphere, especially after the formation of the new Israeli Government.
