IOF Raid Palestinian Prisoner’s House in Baqa Al-Gharbiya

S.K | DOP -

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) raided Sunday, February 5, 2023 the house of the Palestinian prisoner Walid Daqqa in the city of Baqa al-Gharbiya, within the lands of 1948, and tampered with its contents.

According to local sources, the Israeli forces prevented the prisoner’s wife, Sanaa Salameh, from filming the house raid and search, and violently tried to seize her own phone.

IOF also seized some of the property and pictures of the Palestinian prisoner, Walid Daqqa, which were placed inside the family home in Baqa al-Gharbiya.

The prisoner, Walid Daqqa (60), has been detained since 1986 and sentenced to life imprisonment, which was later set to 37 years.

An Israeli court later added two more years to his sentence, and during the year 1999 he got married to his wife, Sana Salama as during the year 2020 they had a baby girl whom they called “Milad”, through a smuggled sperm.

Note that 4,500 Palestinians are currently detained inside Israeli occupation prisons, including 400 who have severe and chronic illnesses, 31 women, and 500 administrative detainees.

In the absence of strong pressure to stop the systematic inhumane abuses, the racist and fascist policies of the Prison Service Administration have a negative impact on Palestinian detainees, especially amid the emergence of the new Israeli extremist government.
