Health of Palestinian Prisoner Al-Nawabit Deteriorates in Israeli Prisons

S.K | DOP -

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Club stated Thursday, April 13, 2023, that the health condition of the Palestinian administrative detainee, Khaled Al-Nawabit (44), from Barqa in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, has deteriorated recently.

The Palestinian prisoner Al-Nawabit suffers from severe heart problems, as he was scheduled to undergo open-heart surgery before his detention in November 2022, however, the occupation prevented him from completing his medical treatment.

Al-Nawabit suffers severe chest pains, shortness of breath, and unending dizziness, in addition to his suffering from severe pains in limbs and knees.

Doubling his pains, the occupation prison administration only transfers Al-Nawabit from “Ofer” prison to the so-called “Al-Ramla prison clinic” for some medical examinations, as the process of transferring him to the “Al-Ramla clinic” contributes to exacerbation of his situation.

It is noteworthy that Al-Nawabit is an ex-prisoner, who spent about seven years in occupation prisons at intervals. He is married and father of four children, and occupation authorities issued an administrative detention order against him for a period of 6 months.

The occupation authorities continue to escalate the crime of administrative detention, which affect a great number of Palestinian detainees who suffer from severe health conditions.

In the absence of strong pressure to stop the systemic inhumane abuses, the racist and fascist policies of the Prison Service Administration have a negative impact on Palestinian detainees.

It is noteworthy that the number of administrative detainees in the occupation prisons reached 1016 detainees by the end of last March.
