Israeli forces demolished a Palestinian house in Beitunia town, west of Ramallah city, according to local sources on Wednesday.
Witnesses told local media that a large Israeli force stormed into the town and cordoned off the area surrounding the house, belonging to Abdul-Aziz Faroukh, before tearing.
Faroukh’s house was located near the section of Israel’s apartheid wall. It was demolished purportedly for lacking a construction permit.
Beitunia is located 3 kilometers west of Ramallah and 14 kilometers north of Jerusalem. It has a population of some 28,000 and occupies a total area of 21,127 dunams.
Under the Oslo Accords, 3759 dunums of the town’s land were classified as Area A, 472 dunums were classified as Area B, while the remaining 16,896 dunums were classified as Area C.
Israel has confiscated an area of some 4,000 dunums from Beitunia in order to construct two Israeli settlements: Beit Horon and Giv’at Za’av.
