Human Rights Institutions Association – HRIA said that the election of Turkey for the presidency of the United Nations General Assembly in its 75th session is a real opportunity to support the rules of international justice, especially in light of the inhuman practices of the Israeli occupation authorities against civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories, and its constant challenge to the decisions of the international community.
The association said in a congratulation letter that was sent this morning to the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoglu, and the ambassador, Vulcan Bozker, the elected president of the 75th session: "We look forward to your efforts in establishing the rules of international humanitarian law, lifting the suffering of the Palestinian people, and stand firmly against the grave violations of the "Israeli" occupation forces against the rules of international humanitarian law in the occupied Palestinian territories.
HRIA urged the elected president of the 75th session of the General Assembly to stand firmly against the grave violations of the "Israeli" occupation forces of the rules of international humanitarian law and international human rights law in the occupied Palestinian territories. It expressed its confidence in the ability of the Turkish Republic to make a difference in international dealing with the Palestinian cause, put an end to the Israeli occupation authorities' disregard for international laws and decisions, and empower the Palestinian people to gain their freedom and self-determination and establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
