Days of Palestine, West Bank –Israeli occupation has accelerated settlement expansion in bid to divide West Bank into two parts, residents said on Wednesday.
“Building in the illegal Israeli Jewish-only settlements in Salfit and its outskirts has been going on vary fast,” a Salfit resident told Days of Palestine. “There is an unprecedented increase of settlement units waiting for more Jewish settlers.”
Another resident said that the Israeli bulldozers are levelling the land for building projects and other building equipment are working 24/7, mainly in the settlement of Ariel in the north of Salfit.
Researcher specialist in Israeli settlement Khalid Ma’ali said that the Israeli occupation is also working to expand the labs of Ariel University in the settlement of Ariel.
Ma’ali said that the Israeli occupation has started a settlement project that divides the occupied West Bank into two parts.

The project, which consists of connected settlement units, starts from Za’tara Checkpoint in Nablus up to the city of Kafr Qassim in Palestine occupied in 1948.

He said that the settlement project has already divided the city of Salfit into two parts.
According to the international law, all Israeli building on the Palestinian lands occupied in 1967 is illegal.
