Israeli settlers uprooted dozens of fruitful grapevines in the Al-Buweira area of Hebron, in the southern West Bank, on Sunday evening, July 23, 2023.
According to human rights activist Aref Jabber from the Defenders of Human Rights assembly, the settlers attacked the land owned by Palestinian farmer Sufyan Sultan and uprooted the grapevines in the Al-Buweira area.
Jabber stated that the settlers fled towards the “Khirbet Kharasina” settlement as soon as they saw several Palestinian citizens approaching them.
He pointed out that the Palestinians documented the moment the settlers fled after uprooting the grapevines, adding that this marks the third attack by settlers on the land owned by Sufyan Sultan in just one month.
Since the beginning of 2023 until July 4, there have been 525 settler attacks in the West Bank, resulting in 137 injuries to Palestinians and 388 incidents causing damage to their properties, according to UN statistics.
