Israeli settlers destroyed Monday, January 9, 2022 olive saplings belonging to a Palestinian resident near the village of Hajja to the east of Qalqilia, according to local sources.
The Israeli forces usually make no substantial effort to investigate the incidents, nor takes measures to prevent Israeli settlers or stop them in real-time.
According to B’Tselem Israel benefits from the repercussions as settler violence has gradually dispossessed Palestinians of more and more areas in the West Bank, paving the way for a state takeover of land and resources.
Israeli settlers’ vandalism in the occupied West Bank is routine and is done with full backing by the Israeli authorities, said the Israeli human rights group B’Tselem.
It’s noteworthy that these provocative acts come amid the escalating atmosphere, especially after the formation of the new Israeli Government as daily violations against Palestinian citizens, deliberate detentions, house demolitions and mandatory deportation policy are doubled and multiplied in a way to suffocate and complicate Palestinian lives.
