Israeli repression units raided Monday, 16 January 2023 the sections of the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli prisons of Megiddo and Negav and brutally assaulted them.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) stated in a statement that Israeli Occupation repression units raided Section 8 of the Israeli prison of Megiddo and suppressed the Palestinain prisoner Abd Obaid before transferring him to Gilboa prison.
Israeli Occupation Prisons Administration has arbitrarily transferred more than 150 Palestinian prisoners since the far-right Israeli minister Ben Ghfir’s visit to the Nafha Prison, The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society added.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society noted that Palestinian detainees in the Israeli prison of Negav began protest steps to demand an end to the arbitrary movement of Palestinian prisoners.
Tensions are already high in the Israeli prisons where thousands of Palestinian prisoners and detainees are held in the aftermath of Israel’s decision to shorten the daily time that the prisoners are allowed to go to the prison yard.
Israeli occupation is incarcerating more than 4,500 Palestinian and Arab prisoners for resisting the Israeli occupation of their homeland.
In recent years, Palestinian prisoners in Israeli detention have launched multiple strikes to demand better imprisonment conditions, including an end to the unjustified Israeli policy of raiding prisoners’ sections.
