DaysofPal- Nearly three weeks into the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli occupation continues to block the entry of vital humanitarian supplies into the Gaza Strip, in a deliberate obstruction worsening the enclave’s humanitarian catastrophe.
Despite commitments under the truce to allow hundreds of aid trucks to cross daily, only a fraction of the agreed amount has entered.
Health officials say that less than 15 percent of the required shipments, including medical equipment, fuel, and basic food items, have been allowed in since the ceasefire took effect.
The ongoing Israeli violations of the truce terms, including the use of reconnaissance drones, sporadic gunfire, and artillery shelling along the eastern border, known by the Israeli occupation as the “yellow line”, have further hindered aid delivery and movement within Gaza.
“The blockade of the crossings remains the biggest breach of the agreement,” a humanitarian source told reporters, noting that “The people of Gaza are not seeing the relief they were promised.”
While markets in Gaza have shown some signs of restocking, residents say the available goods are largely non-essential, chocolates, biscuits, and instant noodles, rather than the basic food and nutritional items families urgently need.
Protein-rich foods, fresh produce, and baby formula remain scarce or unaffordable.
Humanitarian organizations warn that the shortages are deepening Gaza’s food insecurity and fueling the spread of disease.
Hospitals continue to operate with critically low medical supplies and limited fuel for generators, while thousands of displaced families remain dependent on minimal rations.
“The ceasefire may have silenced the bombs for now,” one aid worker said, “but hunger and deprivation are still claiming lives.”
