Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) impeded Tuesday, August 1, 2023, the movement of Palestinian citizens at the military checkpoints surrounding the occupied city of Jerusalem, specifically separating the towns of Bethlehem and Ramallah.
According to local sources, Palestinian citizens waited a long time, so they may pass through checkpoints, while the Israeli occupation claimed a technical defect in the computers through which it checks citizens’ identities.
The congestion concentrated at Checkpoint 300, which connects the cities of Bethlehem and Jerusalem, in addition to Qalandia Checkpoint, which connects Ramallah and Jerusalem, and Al-Zaytouna Crossing near Abu Dis, east of occupied Jerusalem.
The occupation forces deliberately subject passers-by through these checkpoints to humiliating searches, as such checkpoints separate the city of Jerusalem from the occupied West Bank cities.
Daily and systematically, Israeli occupation forces commit violations and attacks against Palestinian citizens, closures, deliberate detentions, home demolitions and deportation, suffocating and complicating Palestinian lives in order to force them to leave their homelands.
