Days of Palestine – Gaza
Hamas Movement has criticized US president Joe Biden’s talk about the Palestinian cause, describing his remarks in this regard as “nothing but more bias in favor of the Israeli occupation and its account,” and “persistence in selling peace illusions to the world.”
“It was clear that president Biden adopted the occupation’s narrative regarding the assassination of martyr Shireen Abu Akleh, dealt with the issue in a cold manner, and deliberately avoided any reference to the occupation army’s responsibility for the crime,” Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem stated on Friday.
“President Biden’s visit to Bethlehem and his meeting with the president of the Palestinian Authority (PA) was an attempt to embellish his trip and to help pave the way for more normalization steps between regional countries and the occupation state,” spokesman Qasem said.
“It was strange for PA chief Mahmoud Abbas to announce that he still extends his hands for peace with and trusts the US mediation efforts after all the crimes that have been committed by the occupation state against our people and holy sites and after the US administration has reiterated its full support for the Zionist interests,” the spokesman added.
The spokesman urged the PA leadership to stop selling peace illusions and side with its people’s options regarding their struggle against the occupation and their rejection of the US policy towards their national cause.
Meanwhile, a Member of the Hamas Political Bureau, Harun Nasser al-Din, said that the archive records and documents, and rental contracts conclusively prove the ownership of Palestinian families of the land allocated by Israel for the US embassy in Occupied Jerusalem.
Israel displaced its owners during the Nakba and forcibly confiscated their property in 1950, he clarified in a statement issued Friday.
As US President Joe Biden makes his first visit to the region as US President, Nasser al-Din called for canceling the plan and returning the lands to their owners.
“We stress that confiscating this land under the so-called Absentees’ Property Law is a continuation of the ethnic cleansing of our people in Occupied Jerusalem,” he added.
Being involved with the Israeli occupation in the seizure of this land, the US administration is actually violating the rights of the legitimate owners of these lands, he continued.
In the same context, Hamas Movement expressed deep regret over Saudi Arabia’s decision to open its airspace to all Israeli air carriers.
“We reaffirm our rejection of all forms of normalization and contact with the Israeli occupation, which continues to practice Judaization and settlement activities and violate the sanctity of Muslim and Christian holy sites,” Hamas spokesperson Jihad Taha said in a statement issued Friday.
The spokesman considered the move as a reward to the Israeli occupation following the so-called “Jerusalem Declaration” signed between the US administration and Israel.
Earlier Friday, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said the country’s airspace was now open to all carriers that meet its requirements for overflights, a decision that includes flights to and from Israel.
