The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas condemned on Saturday, September 17, 2022, the illegal Israeli settlement plans in the West Bank and Jerusalem, the latest of which was the approval of a new settler-colonial project in the illegal settlement of “Pisgat Ze’ev” north of occupied Jerusalem.

Haroun Nasreddin, head of Hamas’ Jerusalem Affairs Office, stated in a press statement on Saturday that The Israeli plans to approve illegal settlement construction across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem are a serious development and a new crime that reflects war against the Palestinian presence in the holy city.

“Such desperate attempts will not succeed in wiping out Jerusalem’s Islamic features and isolating the Al-Aqsa Mosque,” Haroun Nasreddin said.

In addition, Nasreddine emphasized that the “Palestinian citizens of Jerusalem and the West Bank will continue to resist the Israeli occupation with all means possible until liberation and return. ”

Earlier Saturday, the so-called Jerusalem District Planning and Building Committee announced the approval of a new settlement project that targeted the Palestinian lands north of occupied Jerusalem.

The newly-approved plan approves the confiscation of about 1,170 dunums of the Palestinian lands of Shuafat, Beit Hanina, and Anata.

The Palestinian lands in Jerusalem and West Bank have illegally become a home for about 700000 Israeli settlers since 1967. Israeli occupation regularly approves new settlement plans confiscating vast areas of Palestinian lands and displacing their Palestinian owners.
