Days of Palestine – London
The United Kingdom urged Saturday the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) to restraint in the use of live fire against Palestinians in the occupied territories.
The call came after Israeli occupation forces shot and killed yesterday a 14-year-old Zaid Ghuneim in the town of al-Khader, south of Bethlehem, the fifth child shot and killed by the unrestrained IOF gunfire this month.
The UK also called on the Israeli occupation authorities “to conduct a swift, transparent and independent investigation” into the killing of Ghuneim.
The Israeli prime minister has eased restrictions on his army’s use of live fire against Palestinians in the occupied territories, which resulted in a large number of Palestinians being shot and killed this year by Israeli soldiers, a number that has exceeded 60 so far.
Since the beginning of 2022, Israeli occupation forces killed 13 Palestinian children. 2198 Palestinian children have been killed as a result of the Israeli military and settlers’ presence in the occupied Palestinian Lands.
