DaysofPal– The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Tuesday that six people have died in the past 24 hours due to starvation, a direct consequence of the continued Israeli-imposed blockade and restrictions on humanitarian aid.
These latest deaths underscore the deepening hunger crisis gripping the Gaza Strip, where widespread food shortages, compounded by the destruction of infrastructure and the obstruction of aid deliveries, have pushed hundreds of thousands to the brink of famine.
Medical officials warn that malnutrition-related fatalities are rising, particularly among children, the elderly, and chronically ill patients. The Ministry described the deaths as part of a “systematic policy of starvation”, calling for urgent international intervention to allow unimpeded access to food, water, and medical supplies.
Human rights groups have repeatedly raised alarms that starvation is being used as a weapon of war, a violation of international humanitarian law.
