DayofPal—Israel has seized around 115 acres (464.4 dunams) of land in the occupied West Bank’s Sinjil’s village and declared a “state land”.
According to a report by a Palestinian anti-settlement commission, the land in the town of Sinjil has been earmarked to expand existing settlement infrastructure linked to nearby outposts and colonies.
The designation reportedly targets areas connected to the Givat Haroeh outpost, which has since been formalized as part of a larger settlement bloc.
Palestinian officials and rights groups deem the move a part of a broader effort to consolidate territorial control and create geographic continuity between settlements in the central West Bank.
The rights group says the move contributes to de facto annexation and restrict Palestinian development and land access.
The report also comes amid continued settlers’ violence and army’s raids across the West Bank, where Palestinian casualties and displacement have risen since the onset of the Gaza war in October 2023.
