DaysofPal- The Hamas Movement expressed in a press release its readiness to consider any proposals or ideas aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, a genuine prisoner exchange, the complete withdrawal of occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, and the unconditional entry of humanitarian aid.
Hamas confirmed its commitment to the ceasefire proposal put forward by the mediators on August 18, which was also accepted by other Palestinian factions.
The Movement stated that it was open to any ideas or proposals aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire and a complete withdrawal of Israeli military vehicles from all areas of Gaza.
Palestinian groups have displayed the utmost flexibility in negotiations, while Hamas said that Israel deliberately obstructs all agreements to prolong the suffering and destruction in Gaza.
The statement highlighted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent announcement to reoccupy Gaza City came just days after Hamas publicly accepted the mediators’ proposal—clear proof, the movement argued, that Tel Aviv seeks escalation rather than peace.
“Israel insists on violence, ignoring all international mediation efforts and the cries of captives’ families,” the statement read.
Hamas underscored that its commitment to peace remains firm, calling for a permanent truce, an end to the occupation, and justice for both prisoners and civilians, as the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza deepens, with tens of thousands killed and hundreds of thousands facing famine.
