DaysofPal- The World Food Program (WFP) has rejected Israeli allegations that items are smuggled through humanitarian aid trucks entering the Gaza Strip, warning that such Israeli claims risk undermining relief operations and damaging the organization’s reputation.
In a statement, the UN agency said the Israeli accusations are false and contribute as smear campaigns aimed at obstructing its humanitarian mission to support affected and displaced populations in Gaza.
The WFP expressed concern that these claims come at a critical time, as the international community continues efforts to assist those impacted by the ongoing Israeli genocide.
The agency emphasized that it is working to deliver food and essential supplies to people in urgent need across the territory.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and accountability, the WFP stated that all aid shipments undergo thorough inspection procedures in coordination with relevant authorities.
It noted that these measures are intended to ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches beneficiaries safely and in full.
The organization stressed its adherence to principles of integrity in all operations and reiterated its dedication to alleviating the suffering of civilians in Gaza.
Meanwhile, the medical humanitarian organization Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) has warned that Israeli restrictions have contributed to alarming levels of malnutrition in Gaza, particularly among children and infants.
According to UN reports, at least 1.6 million people, around 77 percent of Gaza’s population, are facing high levels of acute food insecurity, placing lives at risk and raising concerns about a potential return of famine conditions.
