Human rights organizations organized Sunday, March 5, 2023 a vigil in France following recent European decisions supporting the Palestinian cause and condemning the construction of new settlements and Israeli settlers’ attacks.
The foreign ministers of France, Germany, Italy, Poland, the United Kingdom and Spain had expressed, in a joint statement, their deep concerns over the continuous Israeli violence in the occupied Palestinian territories. They strongly condemned the indiscriminate violence Israeli settlers practice against Palestinian civilians, calling for the Israeli perpetrators of all these acts to be held accountable.
This stand meant to denounce what is happening in occupied Palestine in the absence of a clear reaction of the international community and the French authorities regarding the continuous Israeli occupation crimes.
French activists stated that they will not remain silent about the Israeli crimes, and affirmed that they will continue to demonstrate, denounce and fight this criminal state until the Palestinian people obtain their rights.
Demonstrators raised pictures of fellow Al-Jazeera correspondent Sherine Abu Aqelah, who was shot dead by the Israeli occupation forces, in addition to raising pictures of Palestinian martyrs.
