Three Israelis were killed in a shooting attack carried out by a Jordanian near the Al-Karameh Crossing)on Sunday morning before he was shot and killed by Israeli forces.
Magen David Adom confirmed the deaths of three Israelis, who succumbed to serious injuries after being shot on Route 90, near the Karameh Crossing, located in the Jordan Valley between the West Bank and Jordan.
The Israeli occupation military issued a statement saying its forces neutralized the shooter after he opened fire. According to the statement, the attacker arrived from Jordan in a truck, exited the vehicle, and began firing at Israeli forces stationed at the crossing.
Israeli media identified him as a Jordanian truck driver who used a handgun to target the Israelis at the cargo terminal inside the crossing.
Following the incident, Al- Karameh Crossing was closed, and travelers were sent back as Israeli forces spread across the area and set up military checkpoints at the entrances to Jericho.
This attack brings the number of Israelis killed in resistance operations since the beginning of September to six.
The operation occurred amid growing solidarity in Jordan with the Palestinian people in Gaza and widespread opposition to Israel’s ongoing assault on the enclave.
The war, which has been ongoing for 338 days, has resulted in 40,939 Palestinian deaths and 94,616 injuries since October 7, 2023, according to official figures released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health on Saturday.
