DaysofPal — Activists, journalists, and international supporters have launched a broad online campaign under the hashtag #TheyLiedToYou, seeking to challenge claims that the Israeli genocidal war in the Gaza Strip has subsided and to draw attention to the continuing violence on the ground.
The campaign, reported by the Palestinian Information Center, aims to document ongoing Israeli attacks and the worsening humanitarian crisis while disputing narratives suggesting a sustained ceasefire or de-escalation.
Participants are sharing videos, photographs, and firsthand testimonies from inside Gaza depicting daily life under continued Israeli bombardment and instability.
Organizers say the initiative is intended to present a more accurate picture of conditions in the enclave and counter what they describe as incomplete or misleading coverage.
The campaign has brought together hundreds of Gaza-based journalists and content creators, alongside Arab and international supporters, to produce multilingual content aimed at reaching a global audience and amplifying Palestinian voices online.
Campaign organizers cited figures from Gaza’s Government Media Office, saying they document continued Israeli violations since a previously announced ceasefire on Oct. 10, 2025.
According to the figures, 3,689 violations have been recorded, resulting in 1,122 Palestinians killed and 3,599 injured, the majority of them women and children.
The data also indicates that deliveries of humanitarian aid, including medical supplies and fuel, have met only about 35% of overall needs, contributing to worsening food insecurity and a deepening health crisis.
Organizers called on international media outlets and human rights organizations to rigorously verify information and maintain attention on developments inside Gaza.
They argued that declining media coverage and shifting global attention have reduced international awareness of the situation.
Palestinian writer Yousef Al-Damouki wrote in a social media post that the war has “not stopped for a moment,” adding that sustained public awareness could increase pressure and expose the scale of the humanitarian crisis.
Journalist Ahmad Hamdan similarly said the campaign reflects how the war has faded from global headlines despite continuing on the ground.
Researcher Ali Abu Rizq said the campaign comes amid intensified Israeli airstrikes, which he described as among the heaviest since the ceasefire announcement. He added that renewed calls for protests and public mobilization are intended to refocus international attention on Gaza.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 1,130 Palestinians have been killed and 3,643 injured in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire declaration in October, with hundreds more reported missing or recovered from beneath the rubble.
Since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on Oct. 7, 2023, 73,253 Palestinians have been killed and 173,751 injured in Gaza, according to the ministry.
Campaign organizers say that after more than 1,000 days of Israeli genocide, many Palestinians are simply calling for basic safety, hoping for even a single day without Israeli airstrikes, displacement, or new casualties.
