Israeli Army Spokesperson and Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich announced Thursday that part of the escalation of fighting in Rafah, Deir al-Balah, and Nuseirat “begins today”.
The remarks were made after Israeli forces launched a barrage of fire from sea, air, and ground across various places of the Middle area on day 188 of the war, the second day of Eid al-Fitr, resulting in casualties and injuries.
Last night, a series of Israeli airstrikes pounded the northern Nuseirat camp and the vicinity of Wadi Gaza, targeting the Al-Nuri Mosque in Abu Ghula’s land, the Ma’ath bin Jabal Mosque in the Darwish family land north of the camp, and the Minaret of the Hassan al-Banna Mosque in the New Camp west of Nuseirat.
Helicopter gunfire was reported north and west of the camp, followed by limited incursions by Israeli forces from Salah al-Din Street towards Nuseirat camp and Al-Mughraqa area, with the destruction of numerous residential towers in the Al-Zahraa city north of the camp.
Five Palestinians were reportedly killed and several wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting a residential apartment in “Salhi Tower 2” north of the Nuseirat camp.
Displaced people in one of UNRWA schools north of Nuseirat camp also reported that shrapnel harmed the school’s courtyard and classrooms, causing fear and panic among families, who fled the school early morning to other shelters in the camp.
To force them out of their homes and places, Israeli forces fired smoke grenades north of Nuseirat camp amid ongoing clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters.
In addition, the Israeli occupation forces shelled agricultural land around the Sultan Palace hall in the Al-Mughraqa camp, in the Middle of the Gaza enclave.
Local sources said news Israeli strikes have just pounded Siam and Abu Ghola families north of Nusairat, claiming the lives of all people inside. Civil Defense team os still digging out bodies from under the rubble.
Yesterday, 14 Palestinians from the Yousif family residing in Nusairat Camp were massacred after an Israeli airstrike targeted their house.
