DayofPal– Israeli occupation forces assassinated the Director of Police in North Gaza and killed at least seven Palestinians on Saturday, continuing a pattern of systematic violations of the fragile ceasefire agreement.
According to Gaza’s Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Abdul Nasser Muhammad al-Maqadma, 54, was killed in an Israeli drone strike in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City.
The ministry described the killing as part of Israel’s deliberate campaign to dismantle Palestinian civil institutions and spread chaos across the besieged enclave.
The ministry stated that Israeli forces have directly targeted police infrastructure, headquarters, patrols, and personnel since the ceasefire took effect in October 2025, resulting in the deaths of 53 police officers and commanders.
It emphasized that the police force is a civilian body responsible for maintaining security and public order, protected under international law.
Medical sources in Gaza hospitals reported that seven Palestinians were killed and more than 20 others wounded by Israeli fire across the Strip since Saturday morning.
Among the victims were a paramedic killed in a strike on Nuseirat refugee camp and two people killed inside a home in Khan Younis.
Another strike in the same area killed a secondary school student, Khaled Al-Bureim just a day after he celebrated his high school certificate.
Israeli drones also bombed the Mawasi Khan Younis area, which shelters displaced civilians.
In addition to the aerial assaults, occupation forces carried out large-scale demolitions of Palestinian homes and facilities in areas under their control east of Khan Younis.
The Palestinian Ministry of Interior condemned the repeated targeting of police as an attempt to create security vacuums and internal disorder in the Gaza Strip.
It called on the international community and mediating countries to urgently intervene and pressure Israel to stop its attacks on civilian institutions.
Since the ceasefire began on October 10, 2025, Israeli violations have killed 1,191 Palestinians and injured 3,853 others, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
These attacks come amid Israel’s ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, which has claimed more than 73,000 martyrs and left over 173,000 wounded since October 7, 2023, while destroying nearly 90% of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure.
