A report by the Commission to Resist the Wall and Settlements revealed that the Israeli occupation forces and the settler militias carried out 897 attacks on Palestinians and their properties in July 2023. The attacks involved live bullets, gas, terrorism, raids, vandalism, theft, confiscation, land grabbing and tree uprooting. Jerusalem and Nablus were the most targeted governorates, accounting for 60% of the attacks.

The report stated that the occupation army killed 26 Palestinians and injured hundreds more in 507 attacks on individuals. The attacks included shootings, arrests, closures, restrictions, and intimidation. The occupation forces also demolished 44 structures and issued 139 notices to demolish, stop construction or evacuate Palestinian facilities in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

The report added that the Israeli occupation authorities approved 33 plans to expand existing settlements or change the land uses of previously seized lands. The plans involved the construction of 310 settlement units and the deposit of 622 settlement units, affecting 925.328 dunums of citizens’ lands.

The report also documented 69 attacks on land and natural resources, which damaged hundreds of dunums of land. Settler groups tried to establish 12 colonial outposts and carried out 15 land-razing operations, mainly in Nablus, Salfit and Hebron. In addition, there were 38 attacks on Palestinian trees and crops, mainly olive trees. The attacks involved uprooting, damaging, vandalizing, poisoning, and burning 2552 trees, including 1720 olive trees.

Furthermore, the report recorded 147 attacks on property, which confiscated, vandalized, and stole about 295 Palestinian properties, including vehicles, bulldozers, tractors, sheep, beehives, chickens, tents, solar lights, iron arches and corners for greenhouses.

The report also highlighted 204 attacks by the settlers, who were aided and protected by the Israeli occupation army. The attacks included storming Palestinian cities and villages, attacking properties, writing racist slogans, bulldozing lands in Kafr al-Dik, Jalud and Aqraba, assaulting 30 vehicles by damaging, vandalizing, cracking, burning, and stoning them, and escalating attacks on holy sites, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The report concluded by calling on the international community to intervene to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and their rights. It also urged the Palestinian Authority to take serious steps to confront the occupation and support the steadfastness of the citizens in their lands.
