The Palestinian female prisoners are subjected to abuse and torture in a special section of Hasharon prison marked by Al-Maabar, which is more like isolation, as they are held there for days and sometimes for weeks.
The Palestinian Authority Prisoners' Affairs Commission said today that the arrested prisoners are subjected to abuse and torture in the special section of Hasharon prison called Al-Maabar, which is more like isolation, as they are held there for days and sometimes for weeks.
The commission stated that the female prisoners are living in tragic and harsh conditions in that section, before they are transferred to the Damoun prison, where they are held in rotten rooms full of surveillance cameras, and their toilets are worn out from which wastewater flows into the rooms, which have iron rugs and have dirty and very thin leather mattresses.
The female prisoners are also complaining about ill-treatment and the quantity and quality of food provided, in addition to the presence of Israeli criminal prisoners in neighboring sections, screaming and cursing all the time.
It is noteworthy that the occupation forces arrested about 110 Palestinian women this year, and since the beginning of the year 2020, the rate of arrests and violations against Palestinian female prisoners has escalated, as the number of female prisoners in detention until mid-November reached about 32.
