Palestinian forces and factions condemn Thursday, 27 January 2023 Israeli occupation’s bloody crime in Jenin, and called on the international community and human rights groups to intervene to stop the extremist Israeli government from escalating violence in the occupied West Bank.
In light of the widespread Palestinian, Arab and international condemnation; Palestinian anger spread throughout occupied Palestine with massive protest demonstrations, condemning the Israeli occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian residents of Jenin.
Millions of Palestinians across the occupied West Bank observed a general strike as they mourned the Nine killed. Schools and stores closed early in all cities.
The Palestinian forces and factions denounced the Israeli occupation’s bloody crime and called on the international community, especially the International Criminal Court, to open investigations into the continuous crimes of the Israeli occupation.
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas spokesman Abd al-Latif al-Qanua stated that the despicable massacre committed by the Israeli occupation in Jenin camp reflects the bloody mentality of the extremist Israeli government that targets Palestinian people and prisoners.
“The gravity of such crime requires the Palestinian people to continue to resist the Israeli occupation with all means possible – a lawful right guaranteed by international law for all peoples under occupation,” he added.
Moreover, The spokesman for the Palestinian Presidency Nabil Abu Rudeineh said that what is happening in Jenin and its camp is a massacre carried out by the Israeli occupation in light of suspicious international silence.
“The inability and international silence encourage the Israeli occupation government to commit massacres against the Palestinian people before the eyes of the entire world.” Abu Rudeineh added.
In the same context, The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community and the US administration to take urgent action to stop the brutal crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people.
The President of the Palestinian National Council Rawhi Fattouh denounced the heinous crime of the Israeli occupation in the Jenin camp affirming that such crimes expose the true face of the Israeli occupation and its extremist government.
Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Movement Mustafa Barghouti said, “The bloody massacre committed by the extremist Israeli occupation against Jenin comes as a result of the international silence on the crimes of the Israeli occupation,” stressing the need to “withdraw the Israeli criminals to international courts and impose boycott and isolation on the Israeli extremist racist entity.”
Earlier yesterday, Israeli occupation military forces invaded the occupied West Bank and carried out an unusually deep military raid into Jenin’s refugee camp.
Nine Palestinians were killed during the Israeli military raid in the occupied West Bank including a Palestinian woman, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said in what marked the deadliest escalation in years.
Palestinian Medics stated that the situation in the Jenin refugee camp was critical and Israeli military forces were preventing Palestinian ambulances and medical crews from reaching wounded Palestinian people.
The number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces during military raids in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem in January 2023 has risen to at least 29 people, including 5 minors. At least 15 of those killed were from Jenin. More than 170 Palestinians were killed in such raids in 2022, many of them Palestinian civilians.
