Palestinian Prisoner Al-Zughair’s Health Deteriorates in Israeli Prisons

S.K | DOP -

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Club held Wednesday, May 17, 2023, the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the life of the Palestinian detainee, Muhammad Amin Al-Zughair (31) from the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.

The Palestinian prisoner Al-Zughair suffers from severe burns sustained as a child during the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2002, as he was only ten years when he first got skin deformities in his hands.

The Prisoner’s Club said in a statement, that Al-Zughair, underwent dozens of surgical and plastic surgeries over the past years, and despite the passage of 21 years since his injury, he still suffers from severe ulcers in his body, and needs close medical follow-up.

The Prisoner’s Club stated that Al-Zughair is married and has four children, noting that a court session will be held for him tomorrow, Thursday, in the Israeli military court in Ofer.

Israeli occupation authorities currently hold some 4900 Palestinians in prisons, including 160 children and 31 women.

In the absence of strong pressure to stop the systemic inhumane abuses, the racist and fascist policies of the Prison Service Administration have a negative impact on Palestinian detainees.
