For the 22nd day in a row, Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons continue disobedience against the prison administration, in response to its announcement of implementing punitive measures recommended by the extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir.
Palestinian detainees’ disobedience today is represented in plenty of steps, including wearing brown prison clothes “Shabas”, as this step indicates Palestinian prisoners’ readiness for a collective response.
Palestinian prisoners will also carry out the “night pestering” step through knocking on the doors at nine o’clock in the evening, in addition to getting out to the cells of the three punished sections in Nafha Prison and taking their bags out.
Palestinians will participate in activities in Palestinian cities in support of the Palestinian male and female prisoners in the occupation prisons between ten and eleven o’clock this morning, in addition to other protests at 9:00 at night.
National Emergency Committee of Palestinian Prisoners Affairs announced in Monday, February 20, 2023 that the Palestinian detainees’ rebellious steps against the punitive measures of the extremist Ben Gvir will not stop until their freedom guaranteed.
The Occupation Prisons Administration has been imposing collective punishments against Palestinian prisoners in prisons, in response to their “disobedience” steps.
On a daily basis, the new Israeli Government practices systematic violations, deliberate detentions, house demolitions and mandatory deportation policy against Palestinians in a multiplied approach to suffocate and complicate Palestinians’ lives.
The number of Palestinian detainees in Israeli occupation prisons is 4,780, including 29 females and 160 children.
