Hamas senior official Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk discussed on Friday with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, latest developments in the Palestinian cause.
A meeting was held between the head of Hamas international relations office and Bogdanov in the Russian capital, Moscow, according to a statement issued by the Movement.
The two parties discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian issue and the ongoing Israeli violations against the Palestinians.
Abu Marzouk emphasized the rights of the Palestinian people and their right to resist the Israeli occupation by all available means.
He said that the Israeli government, with its extremist policies, is once again leading to an escalation of tension in the Palestinian territories and in the region.
For his part, Bogdanov renewed his country’s position in support of the rights of the Palestinians and reviewed the efforts made by Moscow with concerned parties, the statement added.
Russia maintains relations with a number of Palestinian factions, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
