DaysofPal- The Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem reported on Monday that Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have killed 54 Palestinian children and teenagers in the occupied West Bank during 2025, with the bodies of 18 still being withheld by Israeli forces.
In a report published today, the group said most of the victims were killed in circumstances where they posed no immediate threat to the Israeli forces.
It also documented repeated cases in which medical teams were obstructed or prevented from reaching the wounded.
According to the report, 21 of the children were killed despite not being involved in any confrontations.
Another 13 were shot after allegedly throwing stones at Israeli forces or roads, although no injuries among Israeli personnel were recorded in those incidents.
B’Tselem stated that 47 of the victims were killed by live ammunition, while seven others died in airstrikes.
The report further noted that 11 minors were killed in ambush-style shootings, while nine others, including two girls, were killed during military incursions into Palestinian towns where no arrests or clashes were taking place.
Some of the children were shot inside or near their homes, while others were killed while passing through the area or during their presence at workplaces.
Four minors were killed during arrest operations, and seven others died in airstrikes, including four who were in their home courtyards or in the street at the time.
In addition, two teenagers were killed on suspicion of carrying out attacks against Israeli forces.
The organization said Israeli forces obstructed or prevented medical assistance from reaching 13 of the wounded children, approximately a quarter of the cases.
In at least nine incidents, soldiers reportedly fired toward paramedics and civilians to prevent them from approaching the injured.
In some cases, the wounded were not allowed to be transported to hospitals, and it remains seized till dying.
B’Tselem added that as of June 29, 2026, the Israeli occupation continues to withhold the bodies of 18 of the 54 children killed in 2025.
The organization described the practice as a violation of international law, stating that it deprives families of the right to bury their loved ones and hold proper mourning ceremonies, thereby compounding their suffering.
The report characterized the scale of child fatalities in the West Bank as unprecedented and attributed it to a broader policy enabling the use of lethal force without accountability.
