DaysofPal – The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that eight Palestinians were killed and 26 others injured over the past 24 hours as Israel’s genocide continued across the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the ministry said ambulance and civil defense crews are facing significant difficulties in reaching the wounded and recovering victims because of ongoing bombardment and the dangerous conditions on the ground. It warned that the actual casualty toll is likely to rise as search and rescue operations continue.
The Israeli occupation forces carried out three massive demolitions of what remained of homes and other structures northeast of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, local sources and eyewitnesses said.
The demolitions coincided with heavy gunfire from Israeli military vehicles in the surrounding area, while Israeli artillery shelling targeted areas northwest of Rafah.
Witnesses told Anadolu Agency that they heard a loud explosion following an Israeli army demolition operation near the Al-Sanfour Junction in the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood, east of Gaza City.
Israeli military vehicles also opened heavy fire east of the Al-Tuffah and Shuja’iyya neighborhoods, while residents reported hearing additional explosions from areas under Israeli military control.
In recent weeks, the Israeli occupation forces have expanded the areas under their control across different parts of the Gaza Strip by moving westward the concrete blocks marking what is known as the “Yellow Line.” The move has enlarged the no-go zones, forcing more Palestinians to flee their homes.
Israeli forces are deployed along the so-called Yellow Line, a security buffer imposed by Israel inside the Gaza Strip that bars Palestinians from accessing nearby areas. According to the report, Israel now controls more than 70 percent of the enclave.
The Health Ministry said that since the ceasefire on October 10, a total of 1,053 Palestinians have been killed and 3,406 wounded. During the same period, 786 bodies have also been recovered from previously inaccessible areas.
Since the start of the Israeli genocidal campaign on October 7, 2023, the cumulative death toll in Gaza has risen to 73,066, while the number of injured has reached 173,514, according to the ministry.
