At least 14 civilians were wounded, and others suffocated, as the Israeli occupation suppressed Wednesday evening dozens of peaceful demonstrators east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Our correspondent reported that the Israeli occupation forces opened fire and tear gas canisters at dozens of demonstrators who gathered near the separating fence in conjunction with holding a famous festival rejecting the siege and Judaization.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that 14 civilians were wounded, including 5 with live bullets, and their condition is moderate, 2 with rubber bullets, and 7 with tear gas canisters in light condition.
Israeli occupation’s drones threw tear gas canisters at the demonstrators, which led to dozens of cases of suffocation and field treatment.
Thousands of Palestinians participated in a mass festival organized by Palestinian factions east of Khan Yunis, under the title “The Sword of Jerusalem will not be sheathed.”
The festival included many paragraphs, speeches, and artistic activities.
The head of the political department of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Muhammad al-Hindi, stressed during his speech at the festival: “There is a national consensus on the continuation of popular activities.”
He added, “We are one free people and we will continue our struggle with the continuation of the resistance, and the enemy must stop all forms of procrastination and procrastination,”
He released that the head of the “Hamas” movement in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, conveyed this message to the Egyptian leadership.
He continued, addressing the Israeli occupation: “You have no future in the land of Palestine, and you will soon leave our land.”
Al-Hindi stressed that all the occupation forces and their allies “cannot deter a child from the children of Palestine.”
He said: “The enemy cannot enjoy calm while preventing Gaza from medicine and food, and our people today are united behind the resistance, and the resistance is united behind the people.”
He added: “We do not pay attention to the enemy’s threats and trifles, as we are a people who do not fear the enemy.”
In an event held last Saturday, a Palestinian was martyred, and 40 others were injured in a similar festival east of Gaza City.
