The Israeli occupation authority continues to prevent the Islamic Awqaf Administration from carrying out cleaning and repair works in the eastern part of the Aqsa Mosque.

Local sources reported a painful scene in the Mosque’s eastern area where piles of dirt and waste have been there for years because the Israeli occupation authority does not allow the Islamic Awqaf and its crews from disposing of them.

The Mosque’s eastern area is also exposed to daily break-ins by Jewish settlers after the police force Muslim worshipers to leave it.

Groups of settlers gather in this area for Talmudic prayers and stay there for a long time almost every day. They also use the area as a lavatory to relieve themselves, according to local sources.
