The Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Economy in Gaza, Rushdi Wadi, announced that during the recent aggression on Gaza, the occupation warplanes destroyed 16 factories in the industrial city east of Gaza City, 8 of them are completely destroyed and the other 8 are partially or severely destroyed.
During an inspection tour to the industrial zone in Gaza, he confirmed that the ministry has formed technical committees that include its staff and various industrial unions to start counting the economic damage.
He said: “The occupation carried out a barbaric war against factories and economic facilities in the Gaza Strip, and used internationally prohibited weapons to target them.”
Wadi explained that the investment in Gaza Industrial City exceeded $150 million, and it is one of the largest cities in Palestine.
Everyone called for immediate and urgent action to restore what was destroyed by the occupation in the industrial zone, and for the right of all factories and economic establishments in the Gaza Strip.
It is noteworthy to mention that during the eleven days of the aggression on the Gaza Strip, the occupation targeted iron, plastic, sewing, nylon, and furniture factories.
The brutal Israeli occupation aggression on the Palestinian Authority lands and Arab towns inside the 1948 occupied territories resulted in the murder of 279 citizens, including 69 children, 40 women, and 17 elderly people, while about 9,000 Palestinians were injured, of which 90 were classified as “extremely critical.”
