Days of Palestine – Jerusalem
Israeli settlers set alight three Palestinian cars last night in the village of Beit Iksa, north-west of occupied Jerusalem, and sprayed threatening slogans across the road, reported Wafa news agency.
Local sources reported that Israeli settlers burned three cars of Jerusalemites, parked near the “Ramot” settlement, east of the village, of living in Beit Iksa.
Settlers also wrote racist slogans and smashed the windows of many of the cars parked in the same area.
In the vicinity of Bab al-Amud, on the outskirts of the Old City, the Israeli occupation forces deployed intensively and arrested a number of young men.
Since the start of Ramadan, Palestinians in Jerusalem have been facing violence and harassment by extremist Israeli settlers, mainly, followers of the Kahanist Lahava group. The settlers have tried to set fire to Palestinian homes in Jerusalem’s Old City, and have called for those who protest to be killed.
