DaysofPal—The Hamas Movement announced that its delegation is continuing meetings in Cairo with mediators for a third consecutive day as efforts intensify to advance the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said the discussions are focused on mechanisms to complete the remaining steps of the first phase of the agreement, while also working toward frameworks for a potential second phase.
In a press statement, Qassem noted that recent meetings have shown “some movement” toward finding practical approaches that could help move the agreement forward.
He stressed that Hamas is engaging in the talks with “seriousness and responsibility.”
Qassem added that the movement places the interests of the Palestinian people at the forefront, emphasizing that the immediate priority is to halt the continuing Israeli genocidal war and to ensure the delivery of meaningful humanitarian relief.
He called on all parties involved to take concrete steps to implement the ceasefire agreement, urging pressure to ensure compliance and facilitate the urgent entry of a national administrative committee to manage Gaza, as part of the agreed framework.
The Cairo talks come amid ongoing tensions and humanitarian challenges in the Gaza Strip, as mediators seek to stabilize the ceasefire and prevent further escalation.
