Has Ministry of Interior achieved security and stability in Gaza Strip after 15 years?

Days of Palestine -

Since the formation of the tenth Palestinian government in March 2006, the Ministry of Interior and National Security has faced great security challenges and has been subjected to obstacles to thwart the process of restoring and building the security institution, and preventing the achievement of security and stability lost for years.

During the first weeks of imposing a state of security and stability, the security services succeeded in achieving great successes by stabilizing civil and societal peace and ending the phenomena of chaos and insecurity.

Community, national, and factional personalities have praised the efforts of the Ministry of Interior and National Security for its security duties in the Gaza Strip since 2006, and the national figures agreed that the Interior Ministry in Gaza is the safe source for the Palestinian people.

On the fifteenth anniversary of the tenth Palestinian government's formation and the Interior Ministry's rebuilding, national figures said that the ministry had built a solid and professional system that contributed to the extension of security and stability, preserving civil and societal peace, and protecting the Palestinian resistance.

The military spokesman for Izz al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Abu Ubaida, said that the security and police services in the Gaza Strip have been a pioneering model for cooperation with the Palestinian resistance for fifteen years.

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and National Security in Gaza, Major General Tawfiq Abu Naim, confirmed that the Gaza Strip is witnessing an advanced state of security and stability, despite the lack of capabilities that the ministry possesses.

Khaled Al-Batsh, a leader in the Islamic Jihad Movement, said that the Ministry of Interior, through its leadership and officers, and with all its components, was a reason for Palestinian discipline in times of peace and war, and it plays its role in this framework to the fullest, which had a good effect in preserving security and stability despite the difficult conditions imposed by the occupation with its unjust siege on Gaza.

Maher Muzher, a leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, said that the security establishment has made great achievements over the past years in order to maintain a stable security situation in Gaza. "The Ministry of Interior is always in the squares in order to ensure the security and safety of the Palestinian citizen, he added.

Meanwhile, the head of the Supreme Council of Reform Committees, Maher al-Huli stated that the security and police establishment has contributed to preserving civil and societal peace, security, safety, reassurance, and stability, and "the truth is that the security and stability in which we live in Gaza lacks countries in the world that have advanced capabilities, devices, and equipment."

Father Gabriel Romanelli, head of the Latin Catholic Church in Gaza, said: “The Christian community in Gaza is part of the community, and it is in constant contact with the executive authorities in the Strip, especially the Ministry of Interior, and on behalf of the Church we thank the ministry for its great efforts in maintaining the state of security and stability in the Strip."

Dr. Salah Abu Khatla, a leader in the Democratic Reform Movement in the Fatah movement, stated that "in light of the conditions in Gaza and the economic and social reality, the performance of the Ministry of the Interior is clearly developing, and this has an impact on the stability of the situation, which is appreciated by everyone."

"The Ministry of Interior was able to control the security situation in Gaza and thanks to its distinguished performance. We hope that the ministry will remain in its permanent readiness, as the citizen feels this stable and reassuring security situation,” said Kamal Hamad, a leader in the Popular Front and a feminist activist.
